Ingredients
2 slices of parma ham
100g pasta (your choice)
1/4 of small white onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 egg
1/4 frozen peas
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
What to do
Pasta
Bring half a litre of water to the boil and add a pinch of salt. Add the pasta and cook to the directions on the packet
2 minutes before the pasta is due to finish cooking add the peas
Carbonara mix
Sautee the onion and garlic over a medium heat until soft
Slice the parma ham into small pieces and warm through in the onion, garlic mix
Carbonara sauce
Crack the egg into a bowl and whisk
Add 1.5 tablespoons of parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper
Bringing it together
Drain the pasta and peas and add the carbonara mix; stir through
Slowly stir through the carbonara sauce so as not to scramble the egg
Add to a bowl, sprinkle with the remainder of the cheese and season with black pepper
